I was placed at West Side Elementary and this is a technology-based school. In our classroom we had a SmartBoard, document camera, T.V., projector, laptops, and one stationary computer. All of these different technologies is available to all of the students throughout the day and were utilized by the instructors. During my field experience I got to see students use microscopes that are able to plug into the computer. I also witnessed students utilizing computers and laptops during multiple lessons. For example students used computers to visit www.ixl.com and practice their multiplication skills. We used the document camera and SmartBoard the most during our time in the schools. We used these for games, activities, and review sessions. This was a great way to have every student involved with checking his or her understanding of the content. This also allowed students to be interactive with the content. For example, students came up to the SmartBoard and made corrections to my paper for a punctuation activity. This made students really excited to participate and be involved during the lesson. Overall, we incorporated technology into lessons everyday and students seem to truly enjoy it.
